Extra Notes n’ Info:

alGARhythm and A_Scissors will be driving up from Florida on Saturday to do their best at mingling and enjoying some of the other acts on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon and evening before their own gigs.  So if you’re in the N. GA area and enjoy quality live music of different varieties, please swing by and a show some love, introduce yourself, have a drink, and quite possibly hear/see some of the best independent music of the summer of 2010.

*Also, look for a brand new alGARhythm track to appear on the Nophi CD compilation #4.  Which should be available at the gig as well as after wards on a few diff websites.  Gar and Brian will also come prepared with some special Hairy Sloth merch in form of the HSR Compilation CD #1, the fantastic A_Scissors – “Faster” EP, & some other older albums.. all on compact disk and at bargain prices.  Get these albums to get caught up to speed before both of their stellar 3rd Lps drop in the Fall.  A good chunk of the material from which they’ll be playing during their Nophest sets.

2010’s NoPhest will be a hoot n’ a 1/2.  Don’t miss it!  We’re talking well over 60 artists over the course of 4 days time at a mere 15 bucks for the weekend or 7 bucks a day.  You just can’t beat that deal and it is only once a year!

Big thanks to Randy Garcia and to the Eyedrum venue.  See you Sunday!!!

Album Review: R.Garcia’s – “I Used To Write On Walls..”

rg_sloth04_album_art_front_300_lr

R.Garcia’s masterful mega EP, “I Used To Write On Walls & Other New York City Stories”, just got some much deserved positive online press in the form of a brief album review.  He was gracious enough to offer this EP up to the w3rld through our humble lil net label here at Hairy Sloth earlier this year, and it just got a pretty solid review from Canadian MP3 Blog – “QRO”.   Tis truly awesome to know that HSR, it’s contributing artists, and our collective music is really starting to sprinkle some fertile “seeds” domestically and in foreign lands even.  We’re only about a year old now and on a shoestring budget, but with artists of Mr. Garcia’s caliber, with releases like “I Used To Write On Walls..”, and with the likes of and bodies of w3rk n’ potential from the rest of our roster.. -the sky really is the limit. In 2010 we’re takin’ this whole thang through the roof. Stay tuned, as we’ve got some special stuff coming down the pike in the coming months.

And again, Mr. Garcia, *Stellar job on a a ridiculously solid EP and congrats on the positive cross-continental review of your album.  We’re honored to be able to host and disseminate it for ya.  Carry on hombre, we know you most assuredly shall.  You’re a continued artistic inspiration. -Nothin’ but Love and Respect for you and your prolific piles of w3rk good sir.

Sincerely – gaR BaiLey aka alGARhythm
President, CEO, and Head Janitor of Hairy Sloth Records

PS – (If you haven’t heard this EP yet, you’re missing out.. -click on the album art above and go download that thing asap. If you like what you hear, you are more than welcome to drop a few shiny coins into our piggy bank to help us keep the lights on round here.)

Drone Operator – News, MP3s, & Music Video Downloads

GarBob4_Dec 10_2006 002_clr1_550w-sh

We’re back with more A/V goodness for you all in this 11th month of 2009. This time with treats from a long time collaborator and friend of Hairy Sloth Records.  Central/South FL resident, musician, producer, remixer, DJ, beat writer, fisherman, & wildman: Robert Caperton aka “Drone Operator” makes dark, mechanized IDM music with a heavy impetus towards the booty bass drum hits of a South Florida club or skating rink of the late 1980’s. Influenced equally by the bang of Booty, the aesthetic of Industrial, and the technicality of IDM. Dr-Op will blacken yer soul while simultaneously making you want to get up and shake yer ass across the dance floor of an underground club, er shit maybe even yer own bedroom.

In the coming months, look for an HSR exclusive album release of completely brand new Drone Operator music, possibly followed up by a Greatest Hits Collection LP of Bob’s sickest trax from the past 12 some odd years and about as many albums. The tracks which will be chosen, collected, and re-assembled by Drone Operator himself, and yers truly.. Mr. alGARhythm BaiLey.

In the meantime, HSR is totally stoked to wet yer whistle with these couple of songs for your streaming and/or downloadin’ pleasures.

*Also included to help pad yer eyes, ears, and HD is this vintage lo-fi/hi-fi music video for Drone Operator’s – “Wilt Wither” | Made by gar Bailey aka alGARhythm back in early 2007, and who’s participants may or may not have been tip toeing that psychoactive line between the cognizant world and the unseen, omni-dimensional spirit w3rld.
