ARTIST STATEMENT:
Brian Cunningham, (AKA; A_Scissors), is a Florida-based electronic musician, whose compositions and live performances are lush musical tapestries woven from poignant flowing melodies, coalescing rhythms, delicately placed vocal samples, and ambient soundscapes. A_Scissors creates his music with a strong impetus placed on personal nostalgia, child-like themes, & universal harmonies. Avoiding computers for production and by using hardware, (i.e., synthesizers, sequencers, samplers, and drum machines,) A_Scissors translates what he does in the studio, quite effectively into the Live setting . As his stage performance is as organic as that of a live band. A_Scissors is influenced by many different artists, some of the major musical inspirations coming from that of: Aphex Twin, Brian Eno, Nathan Fake, and Boards of Canada.
